FROM THE PASTOR

I wish to thank everyone for your gracious hospitality at last Sunday's welcome.

I just wish I had more time to visit with each person. However, I am sure

that there will be plenty of opportunity to do that over the coming years.

One thing I learned is that St Florian's has wonderful bakers. The ovens

will be fired up when the Bishop comes to celebrate the 100th Anniversary of

the Parish. It is my hope and prayer that we will all strive for holiness of life.

From that holiness springs all we do for the Lord in His service. We have

a wonderful example of holy living in our heavenly patron, St Florian.

He, being a Roman soldier, was to enforce Roman law, and that law required the

rounding up of all Christians. St Florian resisted and he was tortured and martyred

by having a heavy stone put around his neck and drowned. We, too, can be

faithful even when it might be difficult. Let us all invoke the intercession of

St Florian as we begin the next century of our existence.

I am honored to be your pastor.

Sincerely in Christ,

Father Karenbauer
