Saint Florian Parish Ministries

The Altar Society helps care for items that Father needs for the altar, and pray the Rosary for those who are deceased. There are both Active and Associate members, and the Society is accepting new members.
The St. Florian Angel Fund was established in March 1995. It has been providing financial support to deserving St. Florian students in the form of tuition grants. Currently, the Angel Fund awards $100 tuition grants to each St. Florian parishioner attending a Catholic elementary school in the surrounding area.
Baker’s Dozen is comprised of approximately 60 women divided into 3 groups that handle the socials at the church, from set-up, cooking and baking, to serving, hostessing, and clean-up. Women and men are invited to volunteer!
Catholic Daughters of America has a religious, charitable and educational purpose. Membership is open to Catholic lay and religious woman, 18 years of age or older, who love and support the church and the Holy See. Member’s are accepted and encouraged.
The Cemeteries of St. Florian, St. Stanislaus, and Forty Martyrs are administered through St. Florian Church.
The laity of churches of Unity and Mt. Pleasant Township share a common goal of Christian unity. By creating an initiative for interaction, we hope to combine resources in order to reach out and develop spiritually in obedience to Christ. We are committed to under-standing our diversity and affirming our unity. We seek to become a catalyst for sharing our Christian traditions so that we may learn more about each other and draw the best out of each other.
New members are welcome in both the choir and as cantors.
St. Florian’s Cookbook, A Taste of St. Florian, is a 188 page book full of delicious, eye-appealing recipes compiled from the members of our parish. If you are interested in purchasing a copy or wish to sell them for the church, please call.
The Festival Committee is currently planning the upcoming events; festival, pancake breakfasts and the fall festival at Stone Villa. They’re also getting involved in making Perogies. If you would like to help out, please call. Volunteers are needed!
Kolache is baked by a group of parishioners during the Easter and Christmas seasons. Watch the bulletin for details regarding sales of these delicious products.
Meals on Wheels provide meals to those clients who have signed up to receive them through Tri-Angle Meals on Wheels.
The Parish Care Group visits the homebound, those in nursing homes, and hospitals. Cards are sent with a prayer included. Christmas and Easter flowers are taken to people during the holidays.
Prayer Shawls are handmade by this group, blessed by Father Karenbauer, then given to people in our community who are ill. We gather on Tuesday afternoons at 1 PM for prayer, knitting, crocheting, and camaraderie. If you would like to join the group, gather your yarn and needles and join us.
Pre-School for children four years of age is in session on Monday, Wednesday and Friday having a morning and afternoon class. Those who are three years old have sessions on Tuesday and Thursday mornings.
Faith Formation classes for children in preschool through grade 4, Youth Ministry, Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (R.C.I.A.), Sacramental Preparation, and Vacation Bible School information may be obtained through the Faith Formation Office.
The Senior Citizen Group meets for luncheons, picnics, and parties for seniors. Watch the bulletin for upcoming events.
The Women's Faith Group is a gathering of women looking to deepen and strenghthen their faith through reading and discussing faith based books. The group meets on scheduled Mondays from 7:00 PM to 8:30PM.
